“THE SAVIOR IS BORN”
The birth of the Savior changed the world forever! The Messiah was born just as God said he would come in His pronouncement to the serpent in Genesis 3:15. He was born just as Isaiah prophesied. It was a miraculous conception and a miraculous birth; He was born of a virgin! He was born, just as the angel told Mary and later to Joseph in a dream! Christ the Savior was born!
The New Birth of the Savior was for one primary purpose! Luke 19:10 “10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” He taught, He led, and He healed. But make no mistake about it, if all that he ever done was only in this life, it would have left man hopeless in eternity! Oh, but He did so much more, Jesus came to seek and save!
The New birth of the child of God is a result of the mission of God by coming to us in the person of Christ! The babe wrapped in swaddling clothes came to this earth to die on a rugged cross for all who believe! 1 Peter 1:3—5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
From the miraculous conception to the miraculous birth, to His miraculous ministry, and the greatest of all, Christ’s miraculous resurrection. Being born did not provide salvation to man. Being a sinless child, teenager, and then young man never brought about salvation to all who believe. No, it was Christ’s substitutionary death. Sin requires payment. Christ saves our life through His victory over death and the grave. Had He never been born; He could have never died on the cross. Had He never died on the cross, we would have to bear our own sin and the payment too. Had He not arisen from the dead, when we die, that would be the end. Praise God, our Savior was born, and He is coming back again someday soon!
Luke 2:7–11 “7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
