I would like to introduce you to a new women’s ministry here at Strong Tower called Crafting in Christ.  Diane Slagle and I will be leading the ministry together.

Diane and I enjoy making handmade greeting cards and wanted to find a way to use this creative activity to spread the Gospel and assist Strong Tower in its outreach efforts to Reach More in 24.

After talking with Pastor Jody we were able to find several ways to do this.  In addition this will provide a regular and relaxed opportunity for fellowship among the women of Strong Tower.

Our ministry will focus mainly on handmade greeting cards that will be sent to local nursing homes and we will also be partnering with our future cancer ministry to provide cards for their care baskets.  We have talked with Oasis Women’s Ministry in Kingsport to make cards for the women who use their services.

In addition we will be making bookmarks for donations at local libraries and small cards for floral arrangements that are created and distributed by Healing With Flowers in Greeneville TN.  We will also be creating decorative tags for the outreach mugs the church has been distributing.

Projects will include contact information for Strong Tower.  We may also include the QR code to our Gospel message and an appropriate Bible verse depending on the project.

Our first gathering will take place on Thursday, May 23, from 10 am to noon in the Titus Teen Building and will continue every third Thursday of each month.  You do not need any experience to participate.  Diane and I will create and prepare the projects and assist you.  If you are interested in learning how to rubber stamp or any of the other techniques we may use, we’d be happy to show you.  Our initial thought was to open this ministry up to the senior women here at church, but anyone who is available to attend the gatherings is more than welcome.

If you would like to attend or have any questions, please contact Diane or myself.  You can also click the link below and fill out the form to sign up.

Thank you. Mary Liess
